Chapter Nine

Sylvan

“So, Llianna, what are we to do with you, then?” I regard our Fyorlian guest from across the control panel as I enter coordinates to adjust our course setting. I detected a signal indicating the presence of a significant body of debris in the Zaxar Quadrant that, while not exactly en route to the closest interstellar hub is not too far out of the way. There’s likely to be a decent profit to be made from the haul so it’s reasonable to take a detour and Llianna is happy to remain with us for the ride.

Luca is below on the cargo deck attempting to repair the Renascient’s shredded propulsion system. It won’t be an easy task but he will manage to get the ship going again eventually. Neither of us particularly wants to go haring off across the galaxy in pursuit of Llianna should she decide to take off again, but we see no real option but to give her her freedom once her ship is functional. After all, she isn’t our prisoner. We were right to intervene before when she was acting irrationally but she’s well now, got her head together as far as we can tell and at liberty to leave if she wants to.

She peers at me from the communications array she was studying. “Do? Why, what do you wish to do with me?”

It’s a fair question, and innocently meant but my cock hardens anyway. She always has this effect, on both me and Luca. Her ‘phase’ ended half a lunar cycle ago and although she is less driven now, and not so inclined to initiate our play, she responds with undisguised enthusiasm whenever we suggest she might like to join us in one cabin or another. It’s fair to say that Llianna’s appetite for hot, dirty sex seems pretty much undimmed, and that makes three of us.

I toy with the idea of instructing her to strip, and I know she would obey me. She always does, whichever one of us expresses the desire to see her naked body. As often as not we insist that she remains unclothed but Luca and I agreed that we need to have this conversation and it’s serious. Since it has fallen to me on this occasion I prefer not to contend with too many distractions. I take a deep, steadying breath and press on.

“I was meaning, what about your future? Where would you like to go?”

“I thought that we were going to the Zaxar Quadrant to recover debris from one of the minor moons there. Did you not set that course just now?”

“I did, and we will. That’s our next stop, but we need to plan beyond that. You need to plan. You can’t spend the rest of your life bumming around the galaxies with a couple of scrap merchants.”

“I cannot?” She frowns across at me, obviously not especially pleased at this news. Her expression clears and she attempts to rally. “Oh, I see. Yes, you are correct of course.
